Job Description

Responsibilities

• Understands patient monitoring, monitoring equipment and emergency equipment.
• Understands medicines, medication administration, medication complications, aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Utilizes rational protection measures in accordance with Center protocols.
• Obtains an allergy history to evaluate risk factors that contra-indicate the use of intravenous contract material.
• Identifies early signs of contrast media reactions.
• Administers medications in a safe and proper manner including all aspects of moderate sedation preparation, administration, evaluation and complications management.
• Understands patient monitoring principles including the ability to recognize and react appropriately to life-threatening arrhythmias from the cardiac monitor.
• Understands oxygen therapy, manage an airway for resuscitation and manage all available forms of oxygen delivery devices.
• Maintains all forms of Point of Care Testing equipment and the ability to perform testing and/or quality control measures.
• Operates and troubleshoots the pulsimeter, maintains the Non-invasive Blood Pressure unit, Defibrillator/cardiac monitor and the ability to perform monitoring and/or quality control procedures.
• Maintains and Models Nuvance Health Values.
• Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or college CT Registered Nurse License ACLS BLS

Preferred experience in a dialysis access center Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Some occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
