Responsibilities PRIMARY: Ability to fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist and Scribe position as detailed in the specific Patient Care Specialist and Scribe job description. The ability to maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, build and maintain confidence and credibility with all employees. Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team and adhere to all policies and procedures of the company. Ensure that the activities of the nurse are conducted in a manner that is consistent with overall department expectations and are in compliance with Federal and State regulations, guidelines, and requirements including working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA. Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake. Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws and giving injections, etc. Observe patients, charting, reporting changes in patients’ conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment and taking any necessary action. Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy. Assist providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals. Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment. Assist patients utilizing a virtual medicine provider. Ensure accurate completion of patient charts in a timely manner and forwarding charts as appropriate on a daily basis. Arrange referrals to a specialist and obtain pre‑authorizations when directed by the provider. Perform federal and non‑federal DOT, BAT and drug screen exams. Welcome new employees on their first day in the clinic and facilitate introductions to team members, clinic tours, and an overview of the clinic processes. Actively assist new employees with learning activities and completing required training. Support new employee training by providing job shadowing, demonstration, and coaching opportunities. Perform the physical, use of senses, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified on the physical demands. Comply with company standards of operations. Promote and maintain a respectful culture of employee, employer and business confidentiality. Learning the aspects of compliance in the company by completing all mandatory compliance training. Maintain the overall cleanliness of the office as needed to support the team and clinic environment, including taking out garbage, organizing and cleaning desk, patient and office space, and assisting other team members. Perform other duties as assigned by management. SECONDARY: Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients, obtaining and recording demographic, insurance and financial information, with strong attention to detail and in a manner that is professional and caring to our patients. Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes. Work as part of the overall team by answering telephone, taking messages and returning voicemails in a friendly and professional manner. Additional Requirements and Responsibilities: Level 1: High School Diploma or its equivalent with a current CPR license* and/or at least 1 year of experience as a certified LPN preferred in clinic setting, preferably urgent care. Level 2: Certified LPN with a current CPR license* and either (1) 3 years’ experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 4 years’ experience in relevant role. Or Certified RN with a current CPR license* and either 1 year of experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 2 years’ experience as nurse. Level 3: Certified LPN with a current CPR license* and either (1) 5 years’ experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 6 years’ experience in relevant role OR Certified RN with a current CPR license* and either 3 years’ experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 4 years experience as a nurse. Level 4: Certified RN with a current CPR license* and at least 10 years as a nurse and 1 year of Fast Pace experience. Level 5: Certified RN with a current CPR license* and at least 15 years as a nurse and 2 years of Fast Pace experience. Level 6: Certified LPN with a current CPR license* and either (1) 5 years’ experience in relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 6 years’ experience in relevant role OR Certified RN with a current CPR license* and either 3 years’ experience in relevant role and 1 year of Fast Pace experience in nurse role or (2) 4 years experience as a nurse. Additional Responsibilities: Administration duties, including but not limited to scheduling, ordering, training, and other duties assigned by clinic and or regional director. *Receive and active within 7 days of hire. Experience Requirements and Preferences Education: High School Diploma or its equivalent. Experience: At least 1 year of experience as an LPN/RN preferred in clinic setting, preferably urgent care. Current license or certification: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. License must be active, in good standing, and verifiable with the proper regulatory agency. TB and IV certification required to be obtained within 60 days of employment and maintained during employment if applicable in your state.
