Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative – Japanese Bilingual Location: Taylor, MI Department: Sales Employment Status: Non-Exempt Position Summary We are seeking a Japanese/English bilingual Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to support sales activities and provide responsive customer service within an international logistics environment. This position works closely with customers, vendors, internal teams, and overseas offices to coordinate shipments, prepare quotations, resolve issues, and support day-to-day sales and operational activities. Key Responsibilities Support sales staff and assist with new and existing customer accounts. Maintain and update customer accounts and SOPs. Develop and maintain professional relationships with customers and vendors. Respond to business inquiries via phone and email. Prepare customer quotations and provide rates to other branches and overseas offices. Participate in sales meetings and occasionally visit customer sites. Coordinate logistics activities including booking, documentation, compliance, customs clearance/brokerage, delivery, and warehouse operations. Monitor shipment status and coordinate between customers, vendors, internal teams, and agents. Investigate and resolve customer issues. Assist with invoicing for cross-border, triangle, and distribution shipments. Coordinate with Accounting regarding accounts receivable, creditworthiness, and credit terms for new customers. Support process improvements and special projects as assigned. Qualifications Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 2–3 years of previous experience in a similar position. Japanese/English bilingual required. Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office. Strong customer service, communication, problem-solving, organizational, and relationship-management skills. Additional Information No supervisory responsibilities. Primarily office-based work environment. Frequent travel by car and plane is required.
