Contracts Specialist III

Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Contracts Specialist III to manage commercial contract negotiations and review for the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division. The role involves independently handling customer purchase orders, RFQs/RFPs, and sales agreements while collaborating with cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and redline customer purchase orders, RFQs/RFPs and sales documents independently
• Identify and assess legal, financial, regulatory and business risks in contracts; escalate exceptions appropriately
• Negotiate commercial terms including delivery, warranty, payment, indemnification and liability provisions
• Collaborate with Sales, Order Management, Legal and Finance teams to support contract execution and process improvements
• Manage high-volume contracting portfolio while maintaining accurate documentation in contract lifecycle management systems

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or related field plus 5+ years contract drafting/negotiation experience
• Advanced degree with 3+ years relevant contracting experience acceptable
• Commercial contracting experience required; government contracting preferred
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracting principles and risk assessment
• Experience in Life Sciences, Laboratory Sciences, or Healthcare industries preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract lifecycle management systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication with strong stakeholder management skills
