At the level of IOM Technologist - Intra-Operative Specialistit is expected that the individual show self-direction and initiative withminimal supervision. The basic elements of EEG and EP acquisition alreadyshould be mastered. Artifact detection/elimination skills already should bemastered. Advanced techniques are mastered and applied independently at thislevel, such as intra-operative monitoring of complex procedures. Thetechnologist should be able to describe EEG and EP findings to junior facultyin a review style format. IOM Technologists must be flexible enough to learnnew and advanced protocols when needed. IOM Technologists should serve asresources for junior staff. They are also expected to take responsibility forcertain specific aspects of laboratory organization and serve as the lead lab teammember in those individual areas of responsibility. IOM Technologist -Intra-Operative Specialist will maintain registration credentials as aCertified Neurological Intra-operative Monitorist (CNIM). They are alsoexpected to acquire continuing education units as recommended by the nationalaccrediting body in the field, and keep up to date in changes and advances inthe field.

A minimum of three years of experience in the relatedfields is required for the PRN EEG title. Those who do not meet those requirementswill be considered for the EEG Technologist title.

Salary Range EEG Tech: $41.60 - $54.87

Salary Range Senior EEG Tech: $45.06 - $59.45

Salary Range: Principle EEG Tech: $59.64 - $78.69

Salary Range: IONM Technologist: $66.41 - $82.58

Completion of anelectroencephalography program or an equivalent combination of education,experience, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance ofthe duties assigned to the position - strongly preferred

ABRET certification (CNIM) - required for IONMTech

R. EEG T. Certification - required forSenior and Principle Tech

BLS Certification - required for all Tech positions
