Job Description Tax Accountant Location: Albuquerque, NM Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM About Us: An established CPA firm in Albuquerque, dedicated to providing top-notch accounting, tax, and consulting services to our diverse clientele is seeking to add a Tax Accountant to their team. Job Overview The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, providing tax planning and consulting services, and ensuring compliance with state and federal tax regulations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and other entities Conduct thorough research on tax issues and provide sound tax planning advice to clients Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate these changes to clients and team members Assist in tax audits and respond to tax notices Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation Collaborate with other team members to provide comprehensive financial services to clients Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional customer service Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field CPA certification preferred Minimum of 3 years of tax accounting experience in a public accounting firm Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team High level of integrity and professionalism Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
