How would you contribute? This role is a contributing member of our Airlite - 525 Kansas team, located in Omaha, NE. As a Mechanic Specialist you are a key to continued growth and success of Airlite. Inspects, cleans and assembles tooling; performs defined machine operations and distributes manufactured products. Mold Maintenance Reviews mold repair requests, problem solves with foam production personnel, to include establishing a mold maintenance schedule by prioritizing work orders. Reads blue prints for disassembly and assembly of tooling. Identifies from 80 different mold tools and their assembly. Performs maintenance to defined procedures. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly Installs mold parts in foam molding machines and tests operation of components to ensure functionality and performance. Mold Repair Coordinates repair of mold parts through the Production Supervisor. Prepares mold parts for repair in the machine shop for toolmakers. Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly. Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly. Completes projects to defined maintenance procedures and instructions Repairs fill guns, ejectors and water manifold systems. Operates welding equipment to cut or weld parts, to include gas torch, tig and mig. Operates drill press, belt sander, sand blaster, pedestal grinder, lathe, mill and numerous hand tools with thread pitch both inch and metric. Performs the basics of mold tooling. Provides the required mechanical tools to perform the job: wrenches, hammers, drivers, drill indexes, safety glasses, measuring tools, allen keys, flash light, wire cutters and pliers. Mold Operation Performs machine start-up’s and shut down’s to established procedures Performs housekeeping procedures to standards Performs machine tag out’s to established procedures Maintains company attendance standards. Other duties as assigned. Works weekends as required to meet customer requirements and company priorities. Do you have what it takes? Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals English. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Certificates and License: Forklift and power lift certificate is required. Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed risk of electrical shock.
