As a senior technologist, you will coordinate daily activities and schedules for the special procedure’s component of the Radiology department to ensure effective and efficient patient services. You will assist the interventional radiologist in performing complex diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures. Primary Duties Function as senior resource/team leader, coordinate ongoing workflow and activities of staff-level radiologic technologists, nurses, and ancillary support personnel. Establish work schedules and staff assignments to ensure appropriate 24‑hour coverage. Perform and/or assist in all angiographic and interventional imaging procedures, myelography, arthrography, and venography. Schedule patients, prepare and position patients, equipment and supplies needed for each procedure. Use immobilization devices and radiation protective measures during the operation of imaging equipment. Evaluate radiographs for technical accuracy and quality. Utilize physical assessment skills, monitoring devices (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, EKG), intravenous care and aseptic techniques in providing patient care. Provide input for and/or recommend personnel actions including performance appraisals, merit increases, and promotions for assigned personnel. Resolve minor grievances and may recommend disciplinary action when necessary. May serve as educational resource and/or coordinate student/staff instruction. Participate in quality assurance activities and provide liaison support between physicians, technical staff, and department management. Review and make recommendations for revision of policies, procedures, and/or regulations. Distribute and/or implement changes and revisions, as necessary. Provide input regarding budget preparation and make recommendations for equipment and supply purchases. Collect statistical data for administrative and regulatory adherence. Establish and maintain productive communication networks in the department and hospital-wide. Qualifications Associate's degree required. Certificate (before Jan. 1 2015) in Radiologic Technology from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or Medical Education and Training Campus (METC) required. Experience 3–4 years minimum; 3 years experience in a vascular interventional environment (cardiac cath, vascular, or neuro interventional area) required. Licenses and Certifications ARRT Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with advanced certification in Cardiovascular (CV), Cardiac Interventional (CI), or Vascular Interventional (VI) required. ARRT Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology ARRT (R) and (CT) or NMTCB (CT) preferred. CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Basic and/or Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required. This position has a hiring range of USD $42.82 - USD $78.27 /Hr. #J-18808-Ljbffr MedStar Health
