Junior Systems Administrator / Tier 2 Support TechnicianJob SummaryThe Junior Systems Administrator / Tier 2 Support Technician provides hands-on technical support and system administration for enterprise Windows and Red Hat environments in regulated, mission-critical settings. This role supports federal, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and private-sector organizations by administering Active Directory, managing endpoint deployments, enforcing security controls, and resolving Tier 2/3 incidents. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience with modern device management tools, and the ability to operate within SLA-driven service environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain Active Directory user accounts, security groups, permissions, and authentication policiesProvide Tier 2 / Tier 3 technical support for Windows 10/11, Windows Server, and Red Hat systemsDeploy, reimage, and configure endpoints using SCCM, Intune, and PXE imagingPerform system patching, OS upgrades, BIOS, and firmware updatesConfigure and support Azure AD, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), PIV authentication, and BitLocker recoveryMonitor, manage, and resolve incidents using ServiceNow while meeting SLA requirementsSupport Windows and macOS systems in regulated enterprise environmentsUtilize PowerShell to manage user accounts, mailboxes, and permissionsAssist with endpoint security, asset management, and compliance controlsMentor and support Tier 1 technicians as neededMaintain technical documentation and follow federal IT best practicesRequired Skills & TechnologiesWindows Server, Windows 10/11Active Directory, Azure ADRed Hat Linux administrationSCCM, Intune, PXE ImagingMFA, PIV, BitLockerPatch Management & Endpoint SecurityServiceNowPowerShell scriptingTier 2 / Tier 3 Desktop & Systems SupportEducation & CertificationsBachelor 's degree in Business Administration or related fieldAssociate degree in Mass Communications or related fieldCompTIA A+Microsoft Certified Database AdministratorCompTIA Security+ (expected)Experience Level6+ years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments across federal and commercial organizations.
