Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Seeking an experienced Oncology RN to join a specialized care unit in a hospital setting. The role involves providing comprehensive oncology patient care, demonstrating advanced clinical skills, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assess oncology patients to develop individualized care plans.
• Access and manage ports such as Portacaths, or demonstrate willingness to learn.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies according to Physician orders.
• Document patient progress accurately within the Meditech system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain compliance with unit policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.

Qualifications:

• Valid and active Compact License required at submission.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital-based RN experience in oncology.
• Current BLS certification.
• Strong ability to perform port access and deliver specialized oncology care.
• Demonstrated proficiency in using medical equipment including IV pumps, scales, and vital sign devices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
