Job Description

The Installer plays a key role in preparing, assembling, and installing a wide range of equipment, including machinery, electronic devices, and industrial systems. This position reviews project plans and technical specifications, performs precise equipment setup, and carries out routine maintenance and repairs. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to safety while collaborating closely with project teams to ensure successful project execution.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, technical drawings, and specifications to fully understand installation requirements and scope of work.
• Install and set up various types of equipment, including machinery, electronic devices, and industrial systems, ensuring proper operation and compliance with specifications.
• Assemble and integrate components according to provided instructions and technical drawings, maintaining high levels of accuracy and precision.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on installed equipment to address issues, prevent malfunctions, and extend equipment life.
• Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and technical issues, implementing effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and communicate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless project execution and on-time completion.
• Use appropriate hand and power tools to carry out assembly and installation tasks safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for self and others.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring equipment and tools are stored and used properly.
• Interact professionally with clients and team members, providing clear updates and feedback on installation progress and any technical concerns.
• Lift, move, and position heavy equipment as required for installation, using proper techniques and safety practices.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of previous experience as an equipment installer.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills for working with machinery, electronic devices, and industrial systems.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools for assembly and installation.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and precision in equipment setup and alignment.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, project managers, engineers, and other team members.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift, maneuver, and position heavy equipment safely.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Proven troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving mechanical and technical issues.
• Experience with sheet metal work and mechanical assembly tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Technical certifications or vocational training in equipment installation are beneficial.
• Experience working with industrial equipment and systems in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to work extended hours and overtime when project demands require.
• Comfort with a structured schedule and fast-paced production demands.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple installation tasks and priorities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional project teams.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean, well-lit, climate-controlled facility designed to support precision installation work and employee comfort. The standard schedule follows a Monday–Thursday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 4/10 workweek, with current demands requiring significant overtime, including Friday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work is performed on-site with no travel, using a variety of hand and power tools and industrial equipment in an organized production environment that emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, VA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Henrico,VA.
