We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our growing Water team in New Jersey. As a member of the Jacobs team you will work on a variety of exciting and challenging water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance and treatment planning and design projects throughout the region. This position will primarily support senior level engineers and project managers with the growth and delivery of our municipal water projects. You will be responsible for conducting evaluations, designs, and providing services during construction at municipal water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities. Responsibilities include Collaborate and work with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects. Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and tasks. Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group. Complete civil design calculations for a variety of projects, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required by each assignment. Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand. Here’s what you’ll need Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. At least 10 years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients. Experience serving various clients involving drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems. Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes and technologies, master planning and condition assessments. Willingness to learn Jacobs’ proprietary tools. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Technical writing, reviewing, and providing clear, concise input to investigations, memorandums, or solution reports. Working knowledge and understanding of local and state design codes and standards. Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in AutoCAD and ESRI ArcGIS. Ideally, You’ll Also Have Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one within one year. Master’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or an equivalent field. Experience managing deliverables to scope, schedule, and budget. Experience providing services during construction. Involvement in professional society organizations, community organizations, or other leadership roles with volunteer organizations. Self‑motivation and initiative, demonstrated through professional society involvements or related activities. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
