Metal Finisher (Polisher)

We are seeking a full time Metal Finisher (Polisher) with the ability to polish various types of metal products in a timely and accurate manner. Description: Architectural Grille, a Division of Giumenta Corporation, located at 42 Second Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, 11215 is a family owned and operated manufacturing company that has been in business since 1945. We are seeking a full time Metal Finisher (Polisher) with the ability to polish various types of metal products in a timely and accurate manner. Duties/Responsibilities: Grind, Sand, Clean and Finish parts using hand tools or power equipment for a high polish mirror finish Grind down welds using handheld grinder Apply satin finish using stroke sander (will train) Use time saver finishing machine (will train) Observe and inspect parts to ensure specifications and quality are met Apply appropriate compounds to achieve desired finish (will train) Must follow OSHA safety rules and procedures Perform other duties as required Must be able use factory quality polishing machines Qualifications/Requirements: Problem sensitivity and creative thinking Handling and moving heavy items Neat and organized Ability to work in a team atmosphere Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner to achieve intended objective Ability to adapt to change 3 years of experience required Working Conditions: Manual dexterity to handle parts / items May have to carry heavy items Must be able to see markings on metal at close range to ensure quality control Must be adaptable and willing to cross train Americans with Disabilities Specifications: The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
