Job Details

• Position: Sterile Processing Technician
• Location: Greenbrae
• Contract Length: 13 Weeks
• Shift: Day Shift
• Schedule: 5x8
• Experience Required: 2 Years
• Weekly Pay: $1500 to $1700

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Operate sterilization equipment, including steam autoclaves and low-temperature sterilizers
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before packaging and sterilization
• Assemble surgical instrument trays according to physician preference cards and facility standards
• Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation
• Monitor biological, chemical, and mechanical indicators to ensure sterilization effectiveness
• Manage inventory of sterile supplies and surgical instruments
• Prepare case carts and deliver sterile supplies to operating rooms and clinical departments
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on sterilization equipment
• Follow infection prevention, AAMI, OSHA, and hospital safety standards
• Collaborate with surgical services, nursing staff, and other departments to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience
• Current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Current BLS Certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of sterilization techniques, surgical instrumentation, and infection prevention practices
• Experience with instrument tracking systems preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
