DIE CAST MACHINE OPERATOR 2nd Shift Full Time – DECO, Decorah, IA, US 4 days ago – Requisition ID: 1151 2nd Shift Position Deco Products was established in 1960 in downtown Decorah. The name Deco comes from the first four letters of DECOrah. Deco Products is the largest stand‑alone dedicated zinc die caster in North America. Zinc castings are used in many diverse products and our customer base is equally diverse. A few of our primary markets are office furniture, window and door products, and components for commercial vehicles and the RV market. Examples include legs for office partitions, office chair brackets, brake valve components for semi‑trucks, sash locks for windows, and window operators for motorhomes. We also provide products for the electrical industry, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), and an extensive line of broom and mop components. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and troubleshooting zinc die cast machines that produce parts for assembly and powder coat operations. The position will make machine adjustments, handle hot molten zinc safely, lift and move production parts, troubleshoot, and clean machines. The Machine Operator will work with all areas of the company, specifically supervisors, other department personnel, quality control, and engineering. Job Duties and Responsibilities Be focused and engaged. Coordinate with others to perform the assigned workload within the department. Use tools and lift or move production parts. Make machine adjustments. Clean and maintain machines. Maintain a safe, clean work environment. Excellent attendance. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to lift 40 lbs. regularly. Dependable. Basic math skills. General understanding of manufacturing practices. Must be able to read and comprehend written and verbal work instructions. Ability to work well under minimal supervision. Capacity to take direction. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to work mandatory overtime as required. Excellent people skills. Education and Training Eighteen years of age. Mechanical ability.
