The successful candidate will work on design and construction of complex structures including foundations, retaining structures, underpinning, support of excavation systems, embankments and culverts in soft ground conditions for this contract.Role accountabilities:Plan and coordinate geotechnical subsurface investigationsPrepare and review Geotechnical Data Reports, Geotechnical Baseline Reports, and foundation design reportsPerform and review geotechnical design for underground structures and foundations in soils and rockGround characterization based on the subsurface geotechnical dataPerform deep foundation design for drilled shafts, driven piles and micropilesPerform slope stability and seepage analysesPerform liquefaction and seismic site class evaluationsPerform support of excavation design in soil and rock formationsPerform and review geotechnical modeling of deep foundations, excavation support systems, ground improvementPrepare design calculations and engineering reportsPlan and coordinate geotechnical instrumentation and construction monitoringPerform construction impact assessment investigationsPrepare and review specificationsQA/QC of design calculations and engineering reports prepared by othersPerform construction support and field oversight during construction of underground elements such as deep foundationsAttend meetings, work with contractors, perform regular site visits and provide engineering services during constructionQualifications & Experience:4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in geotechnical engineering12-15 years of related work experience preferably in northern New Jersey/NYC areaProfessional Engineer registration in State of New JerseyEfficient in modeling foundations, support of excavation systems, embankments and ground improvement with commonly used geotechnical and geo-structural softwares such as LPILE, GROUP, FB-MultiPier, Slope-W, Seep-W, DeepEx, Plaxis, etc.Familiarity with commonly used geotechnical manuals and publicationsFamiliarity with AASHTO, NJDOT and Amtrak StandardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsLocal resident of NYC metro areaWork from the NJ PMO or the NJ field PMO Offices for the majority of the time.Continue your career journey as an Arcadian.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
