Diesel Technician Level III We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Kenly, NC. $5000 Sign on Bonus! Key Responsibilities Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work. Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools. Complete required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products. Adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and report any issues / incidents to supervisor. Service Documentation – creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information in the service management system. Technical Escalation – obtains technical issue information and escalates to higher level of expertise. Values differences – recognizes the value of diverse perspectives and cultures. Education, Licenses, Certifications Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) May require licensing for export controls or sanctions regulations compliance Experience Advanced knowledge and experience with engine products Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians (Preferred) Qualifications Diagnosing and Repairing Engine Systems – troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing diesel and natural gas engines, including fuel systems, emissions systems, turbochargers, and electronic control modules using diagnostic tools and software. Performing Preventive Maintenance and Inspections – routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Technical Education or Certification – completion of a diesel technology program or related technical field required; associate degree or certification from an accredited technical school preferred. Mechanical and Diagnostic Skills – hands‑on experience with diesel engines, power generation equipment or heavy‑duty machinery required; experience using diagnostic tools like INSITE and QuickServe Online preferred. Experience with Power Generation – experience with Cummins generators or marine applications is a nice plus. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – a CDL is a nice plus for field service or mobile technician positions.
