Assistant Store Manager

Job Responsibilities:
Financial Performance (50%):
1. Actively work the sales floor, interacting with customers and employees to achieve the store’s sales goals. (Retail sales experience preferred)
2. Be one of the top two (2) sales people in the store. Lead all staff in world-class customer service to deliver on all financial goals of the organization.
3. Participate in the annual budgeting process, quarterly/monthly financial review meetings, and other meetings as needed
4. Personally buy and train the team to buy gently used product and invite customers to return to the store to buy, sell or trade their gently used sports and fitness gear and equipment

Staff Performance (25%):
1. Organize, implement and train staff
2. Ensure staff develops proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) and sales tracking system for all sales transactions, buys, returns, etc

Store Merchandising and Operations (15%):
1. Participate in store merchandising to ensure a professional, accessible, and inviting shopping experience, including sorting, straightening, arranging fixtures and setting up feature displays.
2. Train staff to price and ticket items based on pricing and buying guidelines and train staff to restock store following a merchandising plan.
3. Monitor store supplies and ordering or purchasing additional supplies as needed
4. Responsible for exporting daily files
5. Ensure store displays are maintained and housekeeping and maintenance standards are implemented

Human Resources (10%):
1. Actively take part in all aspects of human resources and staffing within the store, including interviewing potential employees, completing new-hire paperwork and training, creating schedules and implementing correction as needed

Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
2. Lifting up to 40 lbs without assistance. May involve heavier lifting with assistance of a team member or cart/dolly
3. Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a retail environment; including receiving, pricing and stocking/back stocking merchandise
4. Able to operate a computerized sales terminal
5. Available to work 45 hours/week with one hour/day for lunch

Schedule: 30-40 hours/week. Schedule can be negotiated at hire, but must be consistent.
Store Hours: Monday - Friday 10 - 8; Saturday 10 - 6; Sunday 12 - 5
