Step-down nurses provide patient care in transitional units where patients are too sick for the med-surg floor but not sick enough for intensive care. They provide this care in an environment with a higher nurse-to-patient ratio then is true in critical care units.

Cancellation Policy: Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for assignments less than 13 weeks.

Penalty: Should Subcontractor Personnel be termed for cause in the first week, no hours will be billable.

Guarantee Hours Policy: 40 hours per week when 8-hour or 10-hour shifts are worked or 36 hours per week when 12-hour shifts are worked. These guaranteed hours do not include on-call or call-back hours.

HOSPITAL may directly hire Subcontractor Personnel with no fee after one 13- week travel assignment.
