Specifically, the Shipping and Inventory Clerk is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: assisting in a variety of warehouse duties, including shipping and receiving, building pallets/crates and packaging materials for shipping, monitoring and maintaining inventory; preparing work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials (kitting). Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies Package, secure and load product Track and prepare documents for product while monitoring database activity for inventory Communicate effectively with vendors when necessary, both verbally and in writing. Maintains dock and storage facilities in an organized manner; receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; restocks items as necessary; labels shelves Maintains all necessary associated documentation to support shipping and inventory activity Follows all plant safety guidelines; practices and procedures. Must be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area Properly use personal protective equipment when required Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements Support all departments with inventory needs Perform other tasks as assigned Qualifications Prior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable. Blueprint reading knowledge preferred Must have basic computer skills (primarily Microsoft Excel) Must have basic measurement and math skills; must have knowledge of basic hand tools and measuring instruments Forklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available) SAP experience desirable Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug test Team player - must be able to work with others and/or alone Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals Attentive to detail watching for material defects, quality issues, inventory levels Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs. Must maintain regular attendance - have reliable transportation Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee works in typical manufacturing environment with overhead cranes and forklifts. Overhead LED lights throughout the workspace create a bright workspace for employees to safely perform their work. Normally clean work environment where the process creates some grinding dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, and vibration. Housekeeping is performed as needed throughout the day and at the end of each shift. The noise level in the work environment is normal to manufacturing processes with air tools, grinders, and other tools. Yearly audiometric testing is provided by the company to monitor areas for improvement. Non-climate-controlled facility in the summer, each work area is provided with fans to help keep cool. In the winter it is heated.
