Overview Position: Civil Construction Inspector I. You will count on contributing to field observations, quality control, and documentation for civil infrastructure projects. You will operate under general supervision with guidance from a Senior Inspector and collaborate with our team to ensure safe, accurate, and timely project execution. Responsibilities Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines). Monitor, record, and inspect construction progress. Coordinate field materials sampling and testing (concrete slump and air testing, cast concrete test cylinders, in-place soil compaction testing). Receive general supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work as it progresses. Perform other duties as needed. Preferred Qualifications Technical school or Associate degree. Some demonstrated experience in construction inspection. Previous ODOT experience. Road and bridge construction experience. Ability to interpret construction schedules. Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Experience in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. The compensation range for this role is location-dependent: Ohio: $48,650 – $69,500.
