Patient Services Specialist

Primary job duties Welcome patients and visitors and maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal, financial and insurance information. Check Patients in collecting copayments or account balances. Scheduling appointments for multiple providers. Verification of insurance. Comforts patients by anticipating anxieties, answering questions, and maintaining the reception area. Answer incoming calls, patient communication through the patient portal. Complete all tasks in non-clinical buckets in the EMR. Protect patient rights by insuring confidentiality of personal and financial information. Contribute to team effort with other duties as assigned. All other duties as assigned by their direct supervisor and/or Practice Manager. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of medical administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications, Excel, Word, Athena Health is a big plus. Knowledge of medical terminology. Working knowledge of healthcare insurance.
