From ensuring effective store operations and procedures to guiding team members within an assigned area of responsibility, our Store Leadership Teams help create memorable consumer experiences while supporting and helping drive the company's mission of "Connecting Active People with Their Passions."As a Retail Supervisor, you will be a member of the Store Leadership Team and assists the Store Manager in the effective operation of the store. The supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction to diverse associate level team members in the assigned area of responsibility. You will provide sales floor leadership to drive sales and ensure associates engage consumers to provide a personalized shopping experience.How You'll Make a DifferenceProvides training and in-the-moment coaching to ensure associates engage consumers, make product recommendations, and leverage product knowledge to influence buying decisions. Ensures associates connect consumers to company loyalty programs and solicit feedback through consumer surveys.Supports store leadership in the execution of merchandising directives; ensures timely replenishment of the sales floor and maintains high store standards for product presentation and store cleanliness.Supervises and oversees assigned department of responsibility. Drives department sales through deep understanding of consumer needs, product training, visual merchandising, and communication of product needs and challenges with store leadership.Collaborates with store leadership team to ensure accurate execution of procedures and compliance with company policies. Works to resolve any problems or errors.Creates and maintains a store culture of teamwork; leads by example to high professional standards and demonstrates Columbia Sportswear Company values.You HaveNo specific education required (High School Diploma or GED preferred)2-5 years of experience in position or specializationSkill operating Inventory and Point of Sales (POS) systems, and various other retail software tools.Ability to use judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.Effective communication skills; able to exchange ideas and information with the store leadership team, associates, and consumers.Job ConditionsFrequently in a more active environment (i.e., requires the ability to constantly move about) that can be physical or strenuous (frequently adjusting/moving items weighing up to 40 lbs.). They may frequently use specialized equipment and may have exposure to dust and noise.Occasionally it requires the ability to work in place.Ability to communicate clearly with others.Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may change seasonally and in response to location-specific business trends or forecasts.
