Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS - Neuro and Trauma Care experience Description: The Progressive Care Unit consists of 44 beds and a staff of 95. The day shift grid includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. The night shift grid includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Patient ratios are 4:1 on the grid and 5:1 when stretched. Common equipment used includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts. The EMR system used is Cerner. Candidates should have skills in neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions. The ideal candidates will be team players focused on patient care. Floating areas include stepdown units and med-surg units. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Every other weekend commitment is required.
