Senior Accountant

POSITION DESCRIPTION Title & Reporting Relationships Position Title: Senior Accountant Reports to: Accounting Manager Brands: SHG - Outerknown, Firewire Surfboards, Slater Designs Department: Accounting Oversees: GL accounting Interactions: Accounting and Finance, various departments related to GL transaction inquiries Main Purpose and Major Challenges of the Role Perform daily accounting functions in a dynamic, ever-changing environment, demonstrating flexibility and sound judgment to make timely business decisions. Foster a collaborative team culture by supporting colleagues, adapting to evolving priorities, and working together toward shared goals while maintaining a strong focus on safeguarding Company assets. General Ledger Maintenance and Close Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations Prepare various monthly journal entries relating to areas such as inventory, direct-to-consumer transactions, intercompany, fx, monthly provisions, leases, etc Prepare monthly accruals and estimates Own commissions and royalty process (contract review, calculation, communication, etc) Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules Review and approve work product of other team members prior to posting in the general ledger Provide financial reporting analysis for month-end flux analyses Review and approve AR/AP/GL postings as needed Prepare/print physical checks as needed Review mail received for vendor invoices, government letters, or other important documents Provide assistance in responding to various government agency letters Partner with Accounting Manager to improve and accelerate month-end processes Audit Support Prepare PBC schedules as requested by auditors Provide support as needed for audit inquiries Other Ad Hoc Audit requests as deemed necessary Personal Measurables Assists in developing the team by effectively teaching, training, and actively listening to team members Collaborates comfortably with other department leaders and responds to all requests quickly and thoroughly Jumps in to assist team members as needed Independent thinker and challenges the status quo to constantly strives to improve processes Values all people must be treated equally, respectfully, and fairly Problem solver and embraces every challenge head on recognizing the opportunity to improve a situation or conflict Detail and solution oriented in nature and leadership style Passionate about sustainability and has a genuine desire to take care of our planet Patient and empathetic to your team, and people, value varying learning styles and experience and willing to invest in everyone on the team ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Accounting is required 3-5+ years of experience participating in a high-performance accounting team Prior public accounting experience preferred Excellent time management skills and sense of urgency Ability to recognize and react quickly and with ease to changing work demands Goal oriented with an ability to stay focused on creating winning results and teams Advanced Excel experience required Full Circle and Acumatica experience preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
