Trade Compliance Specialist

Trade Compliance SpecialistRubbercraft is seeking a Trade Compliance Specialist who supports the enterprise by providing guidance and direction to ensure business unit transactions are compliance with all applicable U.S. import laws (CBP) and export regulations (BIS). This role will serve as the site subject matter expert, responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining compliant processes across all trade activities.About Rubbercraft: Rubbercraft (RCC) is a trusted leader in engineered elastomer solutions serving aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. We take pride in craftsmanship, collaboration, and a culture built on innovation and reliability.Key Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and maintain import and export compliance processes and procedures aligned with CBP, ITAR, and EAR regulationsEstablish and manage master data, including HTS and ECCN classifications, valuation, and country of origin determinationsMonitor export and import activities to ensure appropriate licensing and approvals are in placeExport Licensing & Regulatory CompliancePrepare and submit export license applications, including exemptions and exceptionsManage and track export authorizations and ensure timely renewalsEnsure compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)Audits, Risk & Continuous ImprovementConduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments; implement corrective action plansInvestigate and support resolution of potential compliance issuesMonitor regulatory changes and recommend process improvementsCross-Functional Collaboration & TrainingPartner with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Purchasing to ensure compliance across all transactionsProvide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on trade compliance requirementsSupport vendor compliance and approval processesFacility & Information Control (ITAR)Support and enforce ITAR-related controls, including visitor access, data handling, and deemed export considerationsQualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree requiredExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in import/export complianceStrong working knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and U.S. Customs regulations (CBP)Hands-on experience with HTS and ECCN classification and export licensingAbility to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret and Special Access Program (SAP) clearancesStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Excel for data analysis and reportingSupporting experience with systems such as ACE, Epicor, or similarPreferred:Licensed Customs Broker (LCB)Experience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated industriesWork EnvironmentThis is a fully onsite position based in Long Beach, CABenefits:At Rubbercraft, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
