Job Description The primary responsibility of the Health Screener is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that health screenings are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment for clients and employees; perform with confidence all aspects of a health screening, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. This is an independent contractor (1099) position with the possibility of converting to a W2 per diem employee after meeting certain criteria. Responsibilities Perform biometric screening at client sites including finger stick blood collection, BMI, Blood Pressure and other health screening services based on service package. Perform basic waived testing technical procedures on blood samples and complete required quality control. Provide exceptional customer service at all health screenings. Maintain accurate, complete, and legible records. Participate in training/retraining and continuing education programs as necessary. Comply with safety policies and procedures, using protective equipment to prevent exposure to infectious agents. Understand and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws; adhere to quality assurance procedures and good manufacturing practices. Maintain HIPAA and OSHA standards while on events. Perform other related duties as necessary. Qualifications Preferred Work Experience At least 1 year of healthcare experience in a professional setting preferred. Physical and Mental Requirements Lift light to moderately heavy objects. Lift and carry objects ranging from 1 to 15 pounds frequently; 16 to 40 pounds occasionally. Objects exceeding 41 pounds require assistance. Use phone and PC. Fine dexterity and steadiness of hands. Handle stress and emotions. Concentrate on tasks. Make decisions. Adjust to change. Examine/observe details. Sit or stand for long periods. Travel as required. Knowledge Must be knowledgeable of required regulations and comply with them. Skills Proficient with finger sticks and manual blood pressure. Understand and perform complex procedures and techniques; work with complex instrumentation (Cholestech and/or Cardio Check experience preferred). Handle specimens and reagents, including labeling, processing, transportation, and storage. Provide excellent internal and external customer service. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Read, understand, and follow detailed procedures. Basic computer skills, including internet and email access. License & Certifications Meet state licensure requirements, if applicable.
