Engineering Director

The client is seeking an Engineering Director to direct, oversee, and apply functional authority across engineering design and commissioning activities. This role will lead operational planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering-related projects, with an emphasis on delivering projects in a timely and efficient manner. Key responsibilities include leading and overseeing engineering projects; managing a team of project managers, engineers, commissioning agents, and technicians; delegating work based on expertise and project needs; and reviewing and approving engineering designs, specifications, and commissioning standards for accuracy and compliance. The role will also develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to meet client and organizational objectives, maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors, and help pursue new business opportunities based on project success. Coordination of on-site and remote meetings and client/vendor engagement is expected. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or an acceptable alternative such as Engineering Technology or Construction Management). Experience is required in project management, with the role expecting either at least 5 years as a Project Manager or a minimum of 15 years of project management experience in the industry. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project is required, and a Professional Engineering License is preferred. Additional expectations include strong presentation and communication skills, the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, willingness to travel to job sites for approximately 30% of work time, and physical ability to perform site visits, including walking and climbing stairs.
