Student Success Specialist

Summary Coordinates, develops, and implements student/family mentor programs to increase student academic and social achievement. Serves as liaison between Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) and the business community for the mentoring program. Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Services, Counseling, or a related field AND four years of direct services and program oversight for a program involving school‑age children. Associate’s degree or 60 semester‑hour credits from an accredited institution or AZ Department of Education‑approved academic assessment test. Six years of progressive experience in providing direct services and program oversight for a program or project involving school‑age children. Requirements Prior to Start Date Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization. Valid Arizona driver’s license within 30 days of hire and personal vehicle insurance coverage meeting state minimums. Reliable personal transportation with valid auto‑insurance coverage for the term of employment. Preferred Qualifications Extensive contacts with local refugee communities and refugee service providers. Proficiency in at least one other language spoken within the local refugee community, such as Kirundi/Kinyarwanda, Swahili, or French. Familiarity with secondary education academic standards and requirements. Supervisory experience. Job Details Effective: 2026-2027 school year. Location: Marshall Elementary School – 22nd St & Harrison Area. Classification: White Collar. FTE: 0.5 – 4 hours per day (9.5 month work calendar). Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
