Project Manager, Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services

Job Summary:The Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services Project Manager will be part of an Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services team supporting projects in the areas of Technology Enablement; Business Process Improvement; Finance and Business Operations; in addition to Business Transformation and Operational Excellence efforts.Job Duties:Acts as primary contact for clients and/or engagement team leads regarding all questions and information, including progress, challenges encountered, and issues identifiedProvides exceptional client service and develops advanced level deliverables and/or solutions to client issuesEstablishes engagement budget, provides recommendations for project scope and underlying pricing changes, as neededPrepares periodic and timely billings, and manages adjustments to engagement realization, as neededIdentifies, grows, and maintains strategic relationships with client personnel, including members of client management Prepares formal and informal presentations for client meetingsIdentifies new business opportunities to expand the Accounting & Reporting Advisory Services practice and communicates such opportunities to his/her engagement leadersParticipates in marketing and business development activities within practiceDrafts proposals and reports, and completes research, when neededAdministers project plansCommunicates and oversees the project plan making updates as directed by the management teamManages tasks closely to make sure they are being completed and in a timely manner Gathers deliverables and distributes project documents appropriatelyDocuments information from internal project meetingsIdentifies and tracks any gaps or issues in the projectSchedules meetings with the management team and the project teamEscalates any issues to management as neededPrepares and distributes project communicationsFosters a positive demeanor, learning attitude and client service mentality with client and ARAS team membersOther specific duties as required by individual clientsSupervisory Responsibilities:May supervise the day-to-day workload of other personnel on assigned engagements and reviews work productsActs as mentor to others, as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Education:Bachelor’s degree, requiredExperience:Five (5) or more years of professional experience, requiredStrong analytical, facilitation, documentation, and communication skills, requiredStrong project planning, scoping and management skills, requiredStrong business process analysis & design and process flow skills or a strong understanding of Technology, Operations, or Finance functions, requiredClient facing consulting experience, preferredProject Management experience, preferredLicense/Certifications:N/ASoftware:ERP knowledge, preferredKnowledge of project management practices, preferredLanguage:N/AOther Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Strong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal and customer relationship skillsDetail orientedAble to work in a deadline-driven environment Capable of successfully multi-tasking while working independently or within a group environmentProfessional demeanorStrong problem identification and solving skills Able to travel 25% to perhaps as much as 50% of the time, as neededIndividual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.National Range: $125,000 - $140,000Maryland Range: $125,000 - $140,000NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $125,000 - $140,000At BDO, how we show up matters.
