Position Summary

The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing outpatient behavioral health services to children, adolescents, and adults in accordance with COMAR 10.63 regulations and CARF standards. The therapist will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions while maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Must hold an active Maryland license in good standing:

• LCPC / LGPC
• LCSW-C / LMSW
• LMFT / LCMFT
• LCADC .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical Services

• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Develop and implement Individualized Treatment Plans (ITPs)
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy
• Deliver services to both minors and adult populations
• Apply evidence-based and trauma-informed practices

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete all clinical documentation in EHR
• Ensure documentation meets Medicaid, COMAR, and CARF standards
• Maintain timely completion of:
• • Progress notes
  • Treatment plans
  • Authorizations and updates
• Participate in chart audits and quality assurance reviews

Collaboration & Care Coordination

• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, MTS staff, case managers, and external providers
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
• Communicate with referral sources and caregivers (for minors)

Supervision & Professional Development

• Participate in clinical supervision (if required by license level)
• Attend required trainings, staff meetings, and compliance sessions
• Maintain continuing education requirements for licensure

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnoses
• Familiarity with COMAR and Medicaid regulations
• Excellent documentation and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Cultural competence and professionalism
