If you are detail-oriented with a passion for laboratory work, this position is an excellent fit to advance your healthcare career.ResponsibilitiesSort and receive specimens in the laboratory department.Perform routine instrument maintenance on laboratory equipment.Conduct tasks such as centrifuging specimens, printing extra labels, recording data, and storing or retrieving specimens.Prepare reagents and media necessary for testing procedures.Prepare specimens at workstations, including building worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots and fibrin, inoculating, and slide preparation.Perform quality assurance and quality control duties as assigned.Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.Decontaminate work areas and perform weekly radioactive wipe tests.Maintain laboratory files and records.Change gas cylinders and follow all PPE and safety regulations.Operate the laboratory computer system and PCs, and dispose of biohazardous material.Complete required training and competency checklists.Required SkillsAbility to establish work priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently.Strong attention to detail and the ability to retain information.Effective communication skills to interact courteously with coworkers and customers.Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols.Additional Skills & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training is helpful.Mathematics and science courses preferred.No prior work experience required.Availability for first shift, with some weekend hours possible.Must pass a color vision test and provide a copy of educational diploma.Become a vital part of a professional laboratory team and enhance your skills in a supportive environment.
