This position will support the engineering team with work procurement activities, mechanical design and engineering, internal staff support, and customer-facing activities. Required daily interaction and support for the Murphy Operations team, owner / end user, and third-party consultants. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and leadership skills, with autonomy to develop tailored solutions to meet our customers' needs.Duties/Responsibilities:Reports to the Engineering ManagerReduce company risk for Design Build projects by providing subject matter expertiseSupport internal drawing production and quality improvement activities to allow the Engineering Manager to focus on team management and business developmentMeet with End Users, Owners, GC's, and various Trade Partners to procure and develop target Murphy projectsProduce Conceptual, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documents and Technical Specifications focused on mechanical, plumbing, and process applicationsAssist the internal Murphy engineering staff with design, code compliance, and quality control reviewsProvide design manager duties during early project development for both "In House" and "Out of House" DB opportunitiesWork with the Murphy Operations staff during the project construction phase to provide engineering and contract administration supportWork with Murphy Pre Construction Managers and Estimators to develop projects with mechanical cost estimate support.Attend project meetings (virtual and in person) to support the CO DB work programTechnical Proposals and facility evaluation reportsAttend site surveys and job walksAssist with workforce development with training for interns and entry level engineersAbility to work independently while developing project designs through the construction phaseIndustries ServedBio-Pharmaceutical Laboratory & Clean Spaces Food and Beverage Mission Critical Light Industrial Manufacturing Higher Education Heavy Mechanical Retrofit CommercialQualifications10+ years in Mechanical / Plumbing EngineeringExperience in the Design Build method of project deliveryDesire and interest to work on Advanced Facility mechanical projects (Pharma, Food Manufacturing, Healthcare, Data Centers, Clean Rooms, Industrial, process piping, etc.)BS in Mechanical EngineeringP.E. licensure requiredPreconstruction and budget estimating experience a plusConstruction experience a plusStrong hydronic, sheetmetal, and plumbing experienceEnergy Modelling experience a plusKnowledge of current building codes, industry standards, and various compliance regulations that pertain to the building industry and mechanical designCompetence in various industry calculation and simulation programsTrane Trace 700/3DDetailed load calculations and system sizingEnergy ModellingREVIT, AutoCad, BluebeamManufacturer Equipment Selection software, Murphy Employee platforms, CRM, and other company provided software systemsControls interaction and experience in developing sequence of operationsCommissioning AssistanceAssist with Murphy Engineering Training programs including workforce development of entry level engineers and Interns.
