Clinical Systems Implementation Team Lead

Clinical Systems Implementation Team Lead at Merck oversees validation, implementation, and adoption of applications supporting clinical trials across internal and external systems. The role combines technical leadership with people management, partnering with clinical development, IT, and vendors to drive quality-focused solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Assess business needs and partner with IT and vendors to identify and implement innovative clinical systems solutions
- Monitor technology trends, evaluate vendor capabilities, and develop business cases for innovation opportunities from proof of concept through scale implementation
- Manage assigned clinical systems including migrations and decommissioning; ensure audit and inspection readiness
- Lead and develop team members, conduct performance reviews, allocate resources, and support hiring and onboarding
- Establish change management and communication plans to drive user adoption and share best practices across the organization
Requirements
- Experience with clinical trial systems, validation, implementation, or related clinical operations
- Knowledge of SDLC compliance and FDA inspection readiness requirements
- People management and team leadership experience
- Cross-functional collaboration with IT, business stakeholders, and vendors
- Understanding of data governance, data stewardship, and regulatory guidance
- Familiarity with technology roadmapping and business case development
