Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical (Med Surg) on a surgical unit located in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients in a busy acute care environment. The role requires collaboration with a healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care on a night shift schedule.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 1 year of post-surgical experience (not in operating room) including post-recovery care in urology, orthopedics, general surgery, or medical overflow; BLS certification; willing to learn and take on charge; ability to work in a team environment; primarily delivering nursing care by developing nursing diagnoses, establishing care objectives, defining interventions, and providing holistic support to patients and families.
• Preferred Qualifications: Peri Dialysis experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Number of Beds: 23
  • Patient Ratios: 1:6
  • Equipment: customary, IV pumps, etc.
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Flu vaccination required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1, with exemptions only if approved by the client.
  • Post-surgical Med-Surg unit with a focus on patient education, observing changing conditions, and re-evaluating care plans.
  • Delivery of nursing care includes physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.
  • Contract duration: up to 26 weeks, with typical assignments lasting approximately 13 weeks.
  • Weekly hours: 36 (or 48 if requested).
  • Time off: Up to 5 days every 13 weeks may be automatically approved upon candidate approval; additional time off subject to approval.
  • Weekends: Every other weekend including Saturday and Sunday, unless otherwise approved.
  • Holidays: Expected to work at least one major summer or winter holiday.
