On our team, you will provide stellar care at one of the top healthcare organizations in the nation.Fairview Hospital's Parkview I Oncology and Women's Health nursing unit focuses on Oncology, emphasizes women's health and surgery, and provides comprehensive care and caring services for adults who have medical and surgical diagnoses. As a PCNA on this team, you will provide or assist with basic direct patient care activities under the supervision of an RN.This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working nights between 6:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. with weekend requirements.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and inserting/removing urinary Foley catheters.Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.Assist with keeping patients' rooms clean and orderly.Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire periodNursing students: completed one clinical rotation from a nursing school are required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross prior to hireProficient in applied mathematics and reading comprehension at minimum junior high level as scored on the employment assessmentMilitary experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be consideredPreferred QualificationsState Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)Physical RequirementsRequires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective EquipmentFollows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.The policy of Cleveland Clinic Health System and its system hospitals (Cleveland Clinic Health System) is to provide equal opportunity to all of our caregivers and applicants for employment in our drug free environment.
