Oncology Data Specialist - Certified - 40 Hours - Days

Overview Under the direction of the Supervisor-Cancer Registry Data and Quality, the Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C) is responsible for: Managing and analyzing clinical cancer information Abstracting, and reporting data accurately Compliance with national cancer data and accreditation standards Contributing to the overall improvement of cancer care quality and outcomes Responsibilities Manage and analyze clinical cancer information Abstract and report data accurately Ensure compliance with national cancer data and accreditation standards Contribute to the improvement of cancer care quality and outcomes Knowledge and Skills Oncology coding Staging Reporting standards Regulatory requirements Proficiency in data analysis tools and software Strong attention to detail Education Associate\'s degree required, preferably in Cancer Registry Management, health/technology, or related field. Experience Minimum three (3) years ODS/cancer registry experience preferred Strong understanding and proficiency in using electronic health records and cancer registry software (i.e., CRStar) Prior experience with cancer accreditation (i.e., CoC, NAPBC) preferred Able to thrive in a remote work environment Self-motivated with critical attention to details and deadlines Certifications/Licenses Oncology Data Specialist certification or certification eligible per National Cancer Registrar Association requirements Certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire Additional Information Organization: Henry Ford Medical Group Department: System Cancer Registry Shift: Day Job Union Code: Not Applicable #J-18808-Ljbffr
