Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 7p-7a Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Zero (0) to six (6) months of related experience License: Valid multi-state or state Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of strong Emergency Room experience Description: The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The nursing process is utilized in accordance with hospital standards and unit policies/procedures. This is for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating patient functional status. Utilizes the nursing process in caring for assigned patients. Completes assessment and individualizes plan of care within established guidelines. Carries out nursing care with consideration for cultural and psychosocial factors and ages of individual patients. Organizes, prioritizes, and performs nursing skills appropriate for the patient population. Anticipates patient and unit needs. Demonstrates a sound knowledge base in the bio-psychosocial model. Delegates and communicates effectively and appropriately. Demonstrates professional judgment in response to changing patient or unit situations. Documents steps of the nursing process and care on the appropriate record. Records data concisely, consistently, accurately, and legibly. Utilizes correct medical terminology and abbreviations. Addresses problems and progress toward outcomes according to unit policy. Facilitates patient teaching and discharge. Makes timely and appropriate referrals. Utilizes resources in planning and presenting patient education. Collaborates with other disciplines as appropriate. Supports unit and organizational goals through performance improvement and educational activities. Attends mandatory in-services and meets education standards. Accurately completes variance reports. Exercises independent judgment in planning the sequence of operations and making minor decisions. Works directly with patients and customers. Engages with internal and external customers. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
