Job DescriptionTurner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Associate Director Project Management to support the delivery of aviation energy infrastructure projects, including cogeneration (CHP) plants and central utility systems, across the NY/NJ region.Acting as an Owner’s Representative, this role will manage all phases of project delivery from planning and design through construction and commissioning within active airport environments, ensuring successful outcomes aligned with client goals, regulatory requirements, and operational constraints.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management & DeliveryLead end-to-end delivery of cogeneration/CHP and related energy infrastructure projectsDevelop and manage project scope, schedule, budget, and riskCoordinate engineering, procurement, and construction activitiesEnsure integration with existing airport and utility systemsServe as a primary interface with client, airport operations, airlines, and stakeholdersLead project meetings, reporting, and governance processesCoordinate work to minimize disruption to active airport operationsCommercial & Contract ManagementAdminister consultants, contractor, and vendor agreements in accordance with agency proceduresManage cost controls, forecasting, change orders, and claimsSupport procurement activities including bid evaluation and contract awardTechnical OversightReview and coordinate engineering designs for CHP systems (turbines, HRSGs, electrical, controls)Oversee construction progress, quality, and safety complianceSupport commissioning, testing, and project closeoutRisk, Safety & ComplianceMaintain risk registers and implement mitigation strategiesEnsure compliance with agency standards, permitting, and environmental regulationsPromote a strong safety culture in secure, operational environmentsSOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable. QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field8–15+ years of experience in infrastructure, energy, or power projectsExperience with cogeneration/CHP, central plants, or utility infrastructurePrior experience with PANYNJ projects or similar public agenciesExperience working in aviation or other operational/regulated environmentsExperience in an Owner’s Representative or consulting roleMust reside in the New York Metro areaAbility to work on-site at aviation facilitiesAbility to obtain and maintain airport security credentialsPreferred CredentialsProfessional Engineer (PE) license (preferred)PMP or equivalent certification (a plus)Key SkillsProject delivery in complex, multi-stakeholder environmentsCost, schedule, and contract management expertiseStrong stakeholder communication and reportingAbility to manage projects within active airport operationsProactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven approachAdditional InformationThe salary range for this full-time role is $180K-$260K per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package.
