Job Description

The Production Worker operates on a food processing and production line, handling tasks that range from working with raw ingredients to packaging finished products. This role supports various stages of the process, including adding seasonings and other ingredients, blending and grinding, and assisting as products are canned, pressure-cooked, bagged, palletized, and prepared for shipment. The position is entry-level and well-suited for individuals who are comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing for the duration of their shift.

Responsibilities

• Work on a food processing and production line to support daily production goals.
• Handle raw ingredients safely and accurately according to established procedures.
• Add seasonings and other ingredients to products following specified recipes and guidelines.
• Assist with blending and grinding operations to ensure proper product consistency.
• Support the canning and steaming (pressure cooking) stages of the production process.
• Participate in bagging, packaging, and palletizing finished products for shipment.
• Perform general labor tasks such as packing, assembly, and basic machine operation as needed.
• Operate packaging and production equipment safely and efficiently after appropriate training.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Follow all safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Perform the same assigned duty consistently and accurately throughout the entire shift.
• Stand for the entire shift and adapt to working in areas with varying temperatures.

Essential Skills

• Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately for the entire shift.
• Ability to stand for the full duration of the shift in a production environment.
• Comfort working in a food production environment with varying temperatures (cold, hot, and normal).
• Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment, including hair net, lab coat, beard net (if applicable), and gloves.
• Ability to work safely around packaging, assembly, and basic production machinery.
• Reliability and punctuality to support continuous production operations.
• Entry-level aptitude with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in food production is a plus.
• Experience in general labor, packaging, or general production is beneficial.
• Experience with packing, assembly, and machine operation is an asset.
• Forklift experience is an advantage for supporting material handling and palletizing tasks.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a food production facility that operates a full processing and packaging line. Employees work on their feet for the entire shift and perform highly repetitive tasks. The environment includes areas with varying temperatures, ranging from cold to hot to normal, depending on the department. Strict food safety and hygiene standards apply: team members must wear a hair net, lab coat, beard net (if applicable), and gloves, and cannot wear jewelry on the production floor. The work involves general production equipment, packaging lines, and potentially forklifts and other material-handling tools, all within a structured, safety-focused setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of Madelia, MN.

The pay range for this position is $32656.00 - $32656.00/yr.
