Position Overview

We are seeking qualified applicants for a 13-week contract position starting on November 2. The role involves working night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to work during key holidays, specifically Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, along with either Thanksgiving or New Year's Day.

Position Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Level IV NICU or Trauma Level I facility.
Experience in a mixed adult/pediatric facility preferred; children's hospital experience is highly valued.
No scheduling requests or blocked scheduling will be accommodated; full dedication to the position is required.
Candidates must be willing to work with pediatric ICU patients and exhibit a strong skill set, as well as the ability to float between various ICUs, including NICU, PICU, and Cardiothoracic ICU.

Required Certifications

California Respiratory Care Practitioner License (RCP) in hand.
Active NBRC RRT certification.
BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA Advanced) certifications, with proof of registration for an Advanced NRP class prior to the start date.

Patient Population

The candidate will provide care primarily for pediatric patients in various settings, including:

Acute Care on the floors
Pulmonary Floor (patients with asthma, bronchiolitis, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, cystic fibrosis, tracheostomy-ventilated support)
PICU (mainly intubated patients requiring specialty gases like heliox/iNO)
High acuity NICU and CTICU (where heart transplants are performed).
