Overview Texas Oncology is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - GYN/ONC to serve the The Woodlands, Texas location. The role is available at Level I, Level II, or Senior depending on candidate experience. Nested in the vibrant, nature‑rich community of The Woodlands, Texas Oncology offers advanced, personalized cancer care. The center excels in breast‑only oncology services and cutting‑edge clinical trials, while fostering strong relationships with patients, families, and local organizations. Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluate and record patient/family response; prescribe therapies as indicated. Perform procedures after appropriate training. Assess patient/family needs and provide education. Promote wellness and recommend community resources to meet patient and family needs. Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice. Develop knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Complete patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. Provide case management for patients and families, as necessary. Provide staff education. Rounding at affiliated hospitals and weekend or after‑hour calls, as required. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ideal Candidate – Nurse Practitioner Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school; successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Level I: 0‑3 years of experience. Level II: 3‑5 years of experience. Level Senior: 6+ years of experience. Ideal Candidate – Physician Assistant Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program. Current NCCPA certification. Current state license as a Physician Assistant. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Level I: 0‑3 years of experience. Level II: 3‑5 years of experience. Level Senior: 6+ years of experience. Physical Demands Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination. Must stand and walk for extensive periods. Occasionally lifts up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range. Work Environment Work in a clinic environment with exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions typical of an oncology/hematology clinic.
