About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead its global operations function during a phase of rapid growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for turning the company's scientific and technological innovations into product systems at a commercial scale. This includes owning manufacturing and production, facilities, EHS and containment, supply chain and logistics, capital and construction projects, IT and cybersecurity, and program delivery across all sites. The COO will be instrumental in designing the operations structure, hiring senior operational leadership, and setting high operational standards globally. The role demands a dynamic, fast-moving, and growth-oriented individual with a strong background in operational leadership, particularly in regulated technical environments. Applicants for the COO position at the company must have a minimum of 15 years' progressive operational leadership experience, with a significant portion at the executive level. A proven track record in scaling manufacturing or production operations, establishing an operations function, and operating in a regulated technical environment is essential. The role requires direct accountability for the delivery of large, complex, externally funded programs, experience in capital projects, and the ability to lead international operations and multicultural teams. Strong commercial and financial literacy, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, and U.S. citizenship are mandatory. The ideal candidate will also have experience in biological production, international logistics of sensitive materials, and a background in Latin America, with proficiency in Portuguese or Spanish. The COO must be committed to the company's mission and values, and demonstrate a proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach to their work.
