MATERIALS PLANNING SPECIALIST / Direct Hire Opportunity

Salary $55,000-$65,000

Hours 8am-4pm

Location Hickory Area

Position Overview
ProStaffing is recruiting a Material Planner for a manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for translating sales demand and forecasts into accurate material requirements, maintaining MRP and procurement plans, and ensuring components and raw materials are available to support production while controlling inventory and cost.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

1. Review sales orders and forecast activity to determine material needs and appropriate purchasing timelines.
2. Maintain material availability for components and raw materials required to manufacture finished goods.
3. Manage procurement and inventory levels for production materials and components.
4. Establish appropriate inventory targets, including safety stock levels, based on production demand and batch requirements.
5. Release and monitor purchase orders for production materials, floor-stock items, and standard trade goods.
6. Partner closely with production and operations teams to keep material availability aligned with manufacturing schedules.
7. Support accurate demand analysis and maintain MRP information used for material planning and purchasing decisions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field; equivalent experience may also be considered.
2. Strong analytical ability, including experience working with and interpreting large data sets.
3. Working knowledge of SOP processes, purchasing, forecasting, and inventory management.
4. Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize changing demands.
5. Experience using Microsoft Office; ERP system experience is preferred.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The position serves as a backup resource to the Materials Manager or Scheduler.
