Job Title

Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location

Jacksonville, NC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Days | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | 5x8-hour shifts | Expected 40 hours/week | On-call requirement includes nights, weekends, and holidays (typically 1 night per week); 2–3 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Perform immediate patient assessments upon admission to the OR, addressing biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and discharge planning factors
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments and reassessments to identify patient needs, problems, and appropriate nursing interventions
• Develop and implement individualized plans of nursing care for patients in the intraoperative setting
• Maintain a 1:1 staffing ratio in the OR environment
• Fulfill on-call responsibilities as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — must be in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of main hospital Operating Room experience
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume intraoperative setting
• Familiarity with intraoperative patient education and discharge planning processes
• Strong ability to adapt to on-call scheduling requirements including nights, weekends, and holidays
