Job Specification

Lead and manage the nursing staff within the Ortho Neuro Med Surg unit, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Oversee patient care activities within the unit, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care in orthopedic and neurological conditions. Manage the daily operations of the unit, including resource allocation, staffing, equipment management, and inventory control. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including surgeons, neurologists, and physical therapists, to coordinate patient care and optimize outcomes. Provide leadership and direction during emergencies, ensuring that the team remains responsive and focused in high-pressure situations.

Candidate Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field is preferred. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, orthopedic, or neuro care, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred. Certification in Orthopedic Nursing (ONC) or Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN) is a plus.
