This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the organization's tax compliance, reporting, planning, and accounting functions while collaborating with internal stakeholders, external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies.The Senior Tax Accountant will prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings; conduct tax research and support strategic tax planning initiatives; assist with audits and examinations; and help ensure compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized professional who can manage multiple priorities, exercise sound judgment, and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Job Description:Prepare, review, and coordinate federal, state, and local tax returns and related filingsAssist with quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations, reporting, and documentationPrepare and maintain accurate tax schedules, workpapers, account reconciliations, and disclosuresResearch applicable tax laws, regulations, and guidance to identify potential impacts, risks, and planning opportunitiesSupport tax planning initiatives and provide recommendations to managementMonitor tax filing deadlines, registrations, notices, and other compliance requirementsRespond to tax notices and coordinate with external tax advisors, as neededSupport federal, state, and local tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to information requestsReconcile tax accounts, investigate variances, and research and resolve discrepanciesAssist with sales and use tax, payroll tax, property tax, and other applicable tax mattersMaintain complete, accurate, and well-organized tax records and supporting documentationIdentify and implement improvements to tax processes, internal controls, and reporting efficienciesCollaborate with Finance and Accounting team members to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial informationPerform other tax- and accounting-related duties as assignedQualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldFour to seven years of progressively responsible experience in tax accountingStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax requirementsExperience with tax preparation, tax provision calculations, account reconciliations, and audit supportAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExcellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentDemonstrated professionalism and discretion when handling confidential informationCPA certification preferred$130,000 - $150,000 a yearERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
