CTE Teacher (Business)

Job Title Teacher Job Description At CHCCS, a teacher’s goal is to provide each student with the help, counsel, and learning experience needed to make progress toward educational goals established, to create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, and to establish effective rapport with pupils; to motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to live a rewarding life in an ever‑changing world. Responsibilities Develop lesson plans and instructional materials. Provide individualized and small‑group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student. Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicating these objectives to students. Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media. Evaluate students’ academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports. Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress and the school program. Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems. Maintain professional competence through in‑service education activities provided by the district and through self‑selected professional growth activities. Participate in curriculum development programs and faculty committees, and sponsor student activities. Instruct pupils in a classroom, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities. Translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. Collaborate with colleagues to promote an optimal learning environment for pupils. Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures. Education and Experience Requirements Holds or is eligible to hold a N.C. teaching license. Bachelor’s degree required. Prior teaching experience preferred. Additional qualifications may be accepted as determined by the Board. Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
