Overview Senior Equal Opportunity Investigator – Department of Diversity & Civil Rights, MTA. Full-time, located 130 Livingston St, New York, NY. Salary $108,150 - $119,617. Deadline: Until filled. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is the largest transit agency in the New York region, serving a population of 15.3 million people across a 5,000‑square‑mile travel area surrounding New York City, Long Island, southeastern New York State, and Connecticut. Position Objective Under the direction of the Chief and Deputy Chief EO Officer, the Senior EO Investigator partners with agency management to develop, coordinate, enforce, and monitor policies and procedures that prevent or eliminate discrimination. Responsibilities Receive, investigate, and recommend resolutions for formal and informal complaints pertaining to Title VI, Title VII, ADA, the Rehabilitation Act, Environmental Justice, and Limited English Proficiency. Oversee and guide EO investigators in conflict resolution, investigations, and issuance of findings. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all investigations. Ensure compliance with Equal Opportunity Guidance and MTA policies. Coordinate with supervisors and other stakeholders to resolve discrimination complaints. Present investigative results to agency leaders and recommend remedies. Manage project pipelines for agency complaints to ensure timely resolution. Conduct confidential investigations and document findings. Collaborate with Legal, HR, Labor Relations, Operations, and other departments as necessary. Analyze complaint data to identify trends and design targeted training initiatives. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong knowledge of federal, state, city, and local non‑discrimination laws. Ability to interpret and apply Title VI, Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and related statutes. Strong investigative skills and experience with complex discrimination matters. Logical, objective analysis and sound judgment. Excellent written and oral communication and reporting. Strong organizational, planning, interviewing, facilitation, and mediation skills. Capacity for discretion, neutrality, and obtaining cooperation from stakeholders. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in any accredited field (or equivalent education/experience). Juris Doctor preferred. Minimum 8 years of experience conducting civil rights, discrimination, or workforce harassment investigations. Additional Information May need to work evenings and weekends.
