About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1 year License: Must have NY license in hand - no exceptions Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH required Must-Have: EPIC experience Description: This is a MedSurg/Tele RN position. The shift is 3x12 Days from 07:00 to 19:00. Every other weekend coverage is required. Floating to other units is required. The patient ratio is 1:5 to 1:7. The registered nurse will be responsible for cardiac monitoring and emergency response. The nurse will interpret and manage dysrhythmias. The use of Rapid Response and Code teams is required. The position involves IV therapy and phlebotomy, including peripheral line care and management. Respiratory care, including the use of nasal cannula and oxygen face masks, is part of the role. The registered nurse will implement isolation precautions as needed. The unit specializes in the care of acute stroke patients and other neurological disorders. It focuses on the acute medical patient as well. There is an emphasis on evidence-based care during the prevention and acute care phases of a stroke. All candidates must have the required certifications and meet the experience criteria to apply.
